Idealporträt des Malers Shitao (1630-1707)

In wenigen kraftvollen Pinselzügen umreißt Qi die Essenz seines großen Vorbilds. Er schaut Shitao über die Schulter und präsentiert ihn in vollkommener Versenkung. Künstler, Pinsel, Tusche und Papier bilden eine Einheit. Die klaren opaken Mineralfarben steigern den Effekt der Schlichtheit.
